1.Taking the message of UNEP to the masses, green hopes chief volunteer wrote a piece in a leading english daily of kashmir enlisting the “80 ways to celebrate” world environment day message of UNEP.

2.Formal Launch of greenhopes.in dedicated to environment and food security.
3.We launched our effort to help clear nigeen lake of polythene pollution.
We did not use any implements or machinery. Just a couple of sticks. Determination and grit and not money is needed for preserving the environment. pic credits: green hopes.
This is what we set out to clean.
Continuing our campaign against polythene bags and in defence of our natural resources, green hopes volunteers organised yet another lake clean operation in order to reduce the polythene burden inside the Nigeen Lake. This time we went in the midst of the lake, four volunteer’s .In our day long campaign, we collected a huge quantity of polythene bags, food packaging material, footwear, plastic bottles and what not. In fact, at the end of the day the boat almost capsized due to the load of the collected plastic garbage.Here a few glimpses of the effort.The four volunteers participating in the campaign are.
